CLS – another day in paradise

May 18, 2016 | default

The wind is still the main topic of conversation here at the moment – not its because of how it continues to affect cyclists and tennis players but because the Lanzarote Ironman is this Saturday and almost 1800 competitors will have to cope with this unusual wind as well as the Ironman challenge.

For those unfamiliar with the Ironman it is an extreme triathlon comprising 3.8Km open water swim, 180Km bike ride and a full marathon. Truly awesome.

Much more tame for me today – just a 3Km run, 28 mile bike ride (felt like 50 with the wind and climbs) and a 1000m swim so all good cardio and general fitness stuff followed by a torture session called ‘Release and unwind’ which was actually 45 mins about how to cause extreme discomfort to yourself with a foam roller.

More fun tomorrow!
