Day 4 – 14th September – Bolzano to Torbole or not……

Sep 14, 2022 | blog, Munich to Rome September 2022

0 mile cycled – 0m climbed – temperature 20C

Only one photo today and not a welcome one:

I woke up early this morning feeling a bit squiffy and between Peak Tours general COVID concerns and Italy still having some very strict rules for those testing positive I took the test to be responsible and the result is that my cycling trip is now over. I don’t feel to bad – mild cold type symptoms – but am severely pissed off.

I had to find a new hotel where I can isolate until I get a negative PCR test and by the time I had sorted that out I had missed this mornings PCR test slots so I can’t get that done until tomorrow.

I considered winging it home but it would have been a major exercise for me to get my bike bag, suitcase, and backpack through a maze of public transport when I am not feeling well and I would be exposing anyone near me to the risk of catching it and spoiling their trip the same way some bugger may have done to me.

So, it looks like I’m stuck in Bolzano for at least 5 or 6 days. The only upside is I am in a very nice hotel with a corner double aspect room and my bike is with me so at least I’ll have her to talk to. She is a good listener though – we have been through a lot together.
