Coming soon: Highland 500

May 27, 2019 | blog, Scotland | The Highland 500

In fact it starts next Sunday 2nd June when we depart Inverness to cycle 470 miles around the North West corner of Scotland.

I booked my flight from Luton to Inverness before the Extinction Rebellion protests so I have some concerns about my carbon footprint, I am on a cycling rather than driving tour and taking a bike on the train can be an haphazard exercise so it’s not all bad.

There are 25 riders setting out on Sunday morning following the route shown on the map below:

Our first day is 61 miles from Inverness to Lochcarron and looks like a nice gentle warm up for the climbing to come. As I write this – Monday 27 May – it looks like we have a reasonable chance of avoiding rain that day – dangerous words!

Organised by Peak Tours (France 2018 and Italy 2017) and led by guides Dave, Bob, and Mike the excitement starts next Sunday at 8:30…….
