60 miles ridden – 3248 feet climbed.
Lovely weather today. Sunny, warm in the sunshine but not too hot overall.
After a fabulous downhill into, and then this morning out of, Kah-nee-ta we had a decent 3 mile climb up onto high plains. The ‘A40’ wasn’t quite so busy today although we’re still finding that some of the trucks come unnecessarily close creating some really unsettling turbulence. Our SAG stop was at 30 miles in Madras (no curry houses) and the 10 mile run into Madras was through mixed livestock/agriculture farmland which was both flat and quiet. From Madras into Prineville was a 26 mile road with a continuous yet gentle climb and a headwind.
The picture below was from the long climb
Talk about wide-open spaces! Today is referendum day and sitting here listening to Radio 4’s coverage I think I’m glad to be over here. Tomorrow is a very long day – breakfast at 5:30 with departure at 6:30. Don’t you all wish you were here?
Sounds like all is well there. Just to reassure you that following the vote to Brexit the sky is blue here today and the four horsemen of the apocalypse haven’t been seen anywhere in the UK (well not that I am aware of!!). Have fun xx
Frankly I think today of all days we all wish we weren’t here! Then again with your views there is great merit that you are out there 🙂
Enjoying the Blog…have fun
