Day 0  – 19th June – the Pacific Ocean

Jun 20, 2016 | USA | Across North America

Now we are all here. Today we have had all the orientation sessions about US road rules, thunderstorms, lightning etc.

Most of the riders went in groups to dip our back wheels in the Pacific Ocean at Fort Stevens State Park beach. Not a long ride – 27 miles – but a good opportunity to see how different folks ride and get a feel for group riding. It was a pretty special couple of hours:

We are a really interesting group of people from all sorts of different places and backgrounds. There are a few ‘aliens’ from UK (obviously), Australia, Holland, Germany, Israel joinint folks from all over the US: Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Texas, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Montana, New York, Vermont and one who lives about 15 miles from the finish in New Hamshire. Tomorrows ride is to St, Helens, Oregon.
